Ramp, lane closures planned on Route 422

Ramp and lane closures are scheduled on eastbound Route 422 between Park Road and Township Line Road.

The closures are for bridge constructi­on, concrete patching and saw cutting operations under a project to rehabilita­te pavement and repair seven structures along a five-mile section of Route 422 between the Royersford/ Trappe and Sanatoga interchang­es in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, PennDOT announced.

Weather permitting, the work schedule on eastbound Route 422 is:

• Friday, Aug. 2, and Friday, Aug. 9, from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from eastbound Route 422 to the Sanatoga Interchang­e (Evergreen Road) is scheduled to close. During the closure, motorists will be directed to continue east on Route 422, exit at Lewis Road and follow signs for westbound Route 422 to access the Sanatoga Interchang­e;

• Sunday, Aug. 4, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the left lane is scheduled to close between Airport Road and Township Line Road;

• Monday, Aug. 5, through Thursday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the left lane is scheduled to close between Airport Road and Township Line Road; and

• From 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, the right lane is scheduled to close between Airport Road and Township Line Road.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on eastbound Route 422 through the work area because backups and delays will occur.

H & K Group Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $17,874,021 project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in summer 2021.
