POTTSGROVE 2, POPE JOHN PAUL II 0 >> Skylar Glass was key in the Falcons’ Frontier Division win over the Golden Panthers. Glass found the back of the net twice for the only two goals of the night. Summer Walker kept the Panthers off of the board with six saves. PHOENIXVIL­LE 2, POTTSTOWN 1 >> Ava Labik was the hero of the night for the Phantoms, scoring on a free kick 25 yards out with 5:32 remaining in the first overtime. The game was tied going into halftime after goals from Pottstown’s Calista Daye and Phoenixvil­le’s Morgan Beatty.

Emme Wolfe recorded 9 saves in goal for the Trojans. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 8, NORRISTOWN 1 >> Perkiomen Valley had seven different goal scorers in their win over Norristown on Friday. Nikki Foller-Moll led the Vikings in their effort with two goals on the night. Other scorers for PV were Maddie Zielke, Cassidy Polignano, Courtney Lawson, Madison Reehl, Caroline LoBiondo and Gianna Mallee. Emily Brownell scored Norristown’s only goal from a corner kick. AGNES IRWIN 3, HILL SCHOOL 0>>

The Blues dropped a nonleague contest against the visiting Agnes Irwin school on Friday evening. Marah Krick finished with 13 saves in goal for The Hill.

Boys Soccer

UPPER MERION 2, UPPER PERKIOMEN 0 >> Upper Merion came out with a twogoal victory in a Frontier Division showdown against Upper Perkiomen. Junior Sam Schwartz and Senior Captain Sam Tepe were the two goal scorers for the Vikings. SPRING-FORD 4, METHACTON1>> Following a scoreless first half, Spring-Ford came out firing. The Rams had four different goal scorers on the evening: Tommy Bodenschat­z, Brandon Duke, Justin Russell, and Brett Gulati. Colin Trainor led the team with three assists, now tying the school record at 27.

Parker Stevenson scored a penalty kick for Methacton’s lone goal of the night.

Field Hockey

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 9, NORRISTOWN 0 >> Perkiomen Valley’s Kelly Battinger set the tone early on her way to a hat trick in the division matchup against Norristown. Julia Downing and Emma Haas also made their impact known, each scoring 2 goals for the Vikings.

Bashimah Curry recorded 14 saves in goal for Norristown. POPE JOHN PAUL II 2, POTTSGROVE 1 >> Katie Mink came up big for Pope John Paul, scoring the Panthers’ only two goals against division rival Pottsgrove.

A late first-half goal left the Falcons down 1-0. Pottsgrove’s Bailey Murphy netted a goal off an assist from Jayde Yorgey to tie the game up, but Mink would soon respond to give the Panthers the win.

Pottsgrove goalie Makenzie Johnson had 7 saves on the night. UPPER PERKIOMEN 10, UPPER MERION 0 >> Upper Perkiomen had eight different goal scorers in their win over division rival, Upper Merion. Takoda Wells lead the team with one goal and three assists. Ashlyn Gatto and Kylene Gooch each scored two goals as well.

PHOENIXVIL­LE 208, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 214 >> Parker Stevens’ below-par score headed the Phantoms as they outshot the Vikings in a PAC match at Raven’s Claw Golf Club Thursday.

Stevens was two-under par (34) for Raven Claw’s par-36 layout. Kyle Colombo, shooting a 39 to lead PV, was the only other golfer in the field to break 40. METHACTON 192, POTTSGROVE 230 >> Nick Martin headed a strong showing by the Warriors in Thursday’s PAC match with the Falcons.

Martin was low man at 36, two strokes ahead of teammates Andrew Lasecki and Elliot Meyer and three up on Jeff Cooper. Steve Rinda and Maxwell Craig shared Pottsgrove’s lead with rounds of 45. DANIEL BOONE 245, FLEETWOOD 284 >> With Colton Yenser and Braylon Kuhn leading the way, the Blazers rolled over the Tigers in a Berks Conference match Thursday.

Yenser took low-man honors with a 14-hole round of 56, two strokes better than Kuhn’s 58. METHACTON 194, BOYERTOWN 207 >> The Methacton boys’ golf team found its way to a 13-stroke victory over Boyertown on Thursday night. The Warriors were led by Nick Martin, who shot 33 on the evening. Jason Rieger (38), Jeff Cooper (40), and Colin Meyer (41) rounded out the top four. Boyertown’s John Engle had the team’s best score, shooting 35, and Alex Young followed with a 40. POTTSGROVE 220, UPPER MERION 243>> Pottsgrove defeated Upper Merion 220243 in a PAC faceoff at Gilbertsvi­lle Golf Course on Friday. The Falcons were led by Steven Rinda who shot 39 on the evening. Maxwell Craig followed suit shooting 43.

SPRING-FORD 185, HATBOROHOR­SHAM 199 >> Nicole Yun got low-score honors for the Rams Thursday in their PAC match with the Hatters.

Yun’s round of 44 put her one stroke ahead of HH leader Sheila Fisher (45). Aleena Ghanta and Cierra Griffith contribute­d 46s to Spring-Ford’s showing. HATBORO-HORSHAM 199, METHACTON 200 >> HatboroHor­sham edged out Methacton in a match that came down to one-stroke Friday at Skippack Golf Course. Despite walking away with the best score on the night (40), Riley Thomas and the Warriors fell just short of the victory. Other scorers for Methacton included Catherine Connolly and Cerise Walker who shot 50 and 55 respective­ly. The Hatters were led by Sheila Fisher, who shot 43.

Girls volleyball

BOYERTOWN 3, NORRISTOWN 0>> Boyertown defeated Liberty Division rival Norristown by set scores of 25-13, 25-16, and 25-10. The Bears were led by Sophomore Adrianna Derstine (12 kills, 7 digs), Emma Ludwig (10 aces, 12 digs, 30 assists), Julia Smith (23 digs), and Emily Wolfe (13 kills, 11 digs). POPE JOHN PAUL II 3, PHOENIXVIL­LE 0 >> The Panthers swept the Phantoms 3-0 in 25-8, 25-8, and 25-12 sets. Pope John Paul II’s leaders Alexa Grammersto­rf (3 Kills, 6 digs), Avery Stackhouse (1 Ace, 1 Kill, 3 digs), and Natalie Detweiler (2 Kills) were the standouts for Pope John Paul II in the win. PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 3, GEORGE SCHOOL 0 >> Perkiomen volleyball opened their season with a victory over George School in straight sets, 25-21, 25-15 and 25-21.

SPRING-FORD 6, WEST CHESTER EAST 1 >> Riley Burke and the Lana Hang/Breanna Weigelt team turned in the Rams’ best individual showings in their nonleague victory over the Vikings Friday.

Burke won 6-0, 6-0 at third singles, as Hang/Weigelt at second doubles. POPE JOHN PAUL II 4, PHOENIXVIL­LE 3 >> A sweep of the singles bracket proved vital for the Golden Panthers in Thursday’s PAC match with the Phantoms.

Veronica Marinari headed PJP’s singles run with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the first spot. The Phantoms got all their points in doubles play, headed by the 6-2, 6-2 victory of first-doubles team Vicky DeLuca and Peyton Carr. OWEN J. ROBERTS 4, BOYERTOWN 3 >> Winning two of three singles matches was the key to the Wildcats’ PAC win over the Bears Thursday.

Owen J. found itself extended to three sets in one singles match it won, and to tiebreaker­s in three others. Boyertown’s best individual showing was the 6-0, 6-0 win scored by Caroline Aldred and Kate Callahan at fourth doubles. METHACTON 7, POTTSTOWN 0>> The Warriors lost just two games against the understaff­ed Trojans in Thursday’s PAC match.

Irene Biju scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles for Methacton, which got two points off Pottstown forfeiting third and fourth doubles. Naomi Parson and Shrinidi Dandibhotl­a each won games in their respective first- and third-singles contests. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 7, POTTSGROVE 0 >> The Vikings lost just three games in doubles play Thursday as they rolled over the Falcons in their PAC match.

PV’s Meghana Sahasrbudd­he/Kaitlyn Murphy and Sarah Zielke/Kayla Nassoly tandems swept their thirdand fourth-doubles duels by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. Pottsgrove’s best individual showing came from Mya Krueger, who won six games at first singles. POTTSGROVE 4, CHRISTOPHE­R DOCK 2 >> The Falcons were led by Mya Krueger and Grace Myers in their respective singles victories, on the way to Pottsgrove win over Christophe­r Dock. Other match winners include doubles partners Kayla Hutchinson and Paige Lang along with Casie Boyer and Anna Lilliendah­l.
