Wellington celebrates renovations
WEST GOSHEN » Wellington at Hershey’s Mill, a Benchmark Signature Living Community, recently celebrated completion of Phase I of multi-million dollar renovations.
Three hundred residents and guests listened to Jazz and sampled food and drink to mark 90 days of construction.
The dining room, with outdoor balcony seating was expanded, a bistro for a quick bite or happy hour was added, and new spacious apartments were designed.
A dining space for more-private family and friend gatherings, a state or the art auditorium and performing arts venue were completed and an aquatic and fitness center was constructed.
Doug Buttner, executive director of Wellington at Hershey’s Mill, said the renovations are already showing dividends with 24 new residents calling Wellington home over the past three months, for a total of more than 300 residents at the 15-year old facility.
Executive Director Doug Buttner said it is a tough market. Four new senior care centers recently opened within 10 miles of the Boot Road location.
“At Wellington Hershey’s Mill though, what really sets us apart is not our grand spaces or our many amenities, but our mission to elevate human connection and our associates who are called to care for our residents,” Buttner said.
Eleven-year Wellington resident Evelyn Miller is pleased with the changes.
“It’s like night and day,” she said, “It’s a big, good difference.”
