Incumbents retain all seats in local Chesco municipal elections

Here is a round-up of contested Chester County municipal election results in The Mercury’s coverage area.

North Coventry

Incumbent Republican Supervisor Jim Marks easily won reelection Tuesday, defeating Democratic challenger Diane McGee, according to unofficial results.

Marks won 1,244 votes, or 57 percent, to McGee’s 912 votes.

The seat Marks won carries a six-year term.

South Coventry

Incumbent Republican Township Supervisor William Nesley Jr. won reelection Tuesday, defeating Democratic challenger Nicola Whitlock by a 49-vote margin

According to unofficial results, Nesley won 401 votes to Whitlock’s 352.

The seat Nesley won carries a six-year term.

East Nantmeal

Incumbent Democrat Tyler Wren won reelection Tuesday to the board of supervisor­s, defeating Republican challenger T. Jean Thomas by 50 votes, according to unofficial results.

Wren won 390 votes, or 53 percent, to the 340 votes won by Thomas.

The seat Wren won carries a six-year term.

West Vincent

Democrat Sara Schick won the single open seat on the board of supervisor­s Tuesday, defeating Republican George Dulchinos by 83 votes.

According to unofficial results in the race, which had no incumbent, Schick won 962 votes to the 969 won by Dulchinos.

The seat which Schick won carries a six-year term.

Charlestow­n

Incumbent Democrat Susan Bednar won the open seat on the board of supervisor­s which has four years left on the term, according to unofficial results.

She easily defeated Republican Jim Mitchell by 391 votes.

Bednar received 968 votes, or 62 percent, to Mitchell’s 577 votes.

Elverson

The three incumbent Republican­s easily held onto their seats on borough council, fending off a lone Democratic challenger in Tuesday’s elections according to unofficial results.

Republican Doug Hoskins was the top vote-getter with 332 votes; followed by George Firrantell­o with 311 votes and Jack Stewart with 287.

Trailing far behind was Democrat Steve Solnosky, who earned only 180 votes, or 16 percent.
