UGI and Ernst & Young Wrap Books for RSVP’s Family Literacy Program
Employees of UGI Corporation and Ernst & Young donated their time to wrap 720 copies of the book Freight Train to give to disadvantaged Head Start preschool children throughout our area to encourage reading at home and provide children with a book to call their own. Many of these children have sparse libraries and may never have had a book of their own to share with their families.
Participating in this corporate goodwill project at RSVP’s corporate headquarters in King of Prussia, the employees donated their time to decorate tote bags decorated with RSVP’s Family Literacy program mascot Lucky who loves books and encourages children to read.
RSVP’s Family Literacy program provides Head Start classrooms with eager volunteer readers who captivate the attention of students with read-aloud stories. Students take home books and reading tips for parents to encourage home reading time, cultivating a life-long love for books and learning.
RSVP provides socially responsible team-building events for companies that benefit vulnerable populations. Projects can be on or off-site and can incorporate mission-driven goals.
