Collegeville man faces murder charges
PERKIOMEN » A 23-year-old man was arrested Thursday on murder charges in the death of a Gilbertsville woman earlier this week in Perkiomen Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Nicholas Forman, of Collegeville, is facing first- and thirddegree murder charges, according to state police.
Sabrina Harooni, 22, of Gilbertsville, was taken to Pottstown Hospital Monday afternoon with injuries from an assault and was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to a statement from state police at Skippack.
The assault happened sometime between midnight and 10:30 a.m. Monday on the 900 block of Hamilton Road in Perkiomen Township, according to police.
The circumstances leading up to Harooni’s death were not revealed.
Law enforcement officials located Forman around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday outside a home on the 900 block of Hamilton Road and took him into custody after the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office approved a warrant for murder charges, police said.
The state police’s Skippack
Criminal Investigation Unit and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau
investigated the incident.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office ruled the manner of death a homicide with the cause pending.
Forman was arraigned Thursday afternoon before
Magisterial District Judge Albert J. Augustine and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail.
Forman’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 12 before Augustine.
Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Pennsylvania State Police Commander James B. Kemm have scheduled a press conference Friday morning to announce details of the murder and arrest.
