Collegevil­le man faces murder charges

PERKIOMEN » A 23-year-old man was arrested Thursday on murder charges in the death of a Gilbertsvi­lle woman earlier this week in Perkiomen Township, Pennsylvan­ia State Police said.

Nicholas Forman, of Collegevil­le, is facing first- and thirddegre­e murder charges, according to state police.

Sabrina Harooni, 22, of Gilbertsvi­lle, was taken to Pottstown Hospital Monday afternoon with injuries from an assault and was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to a statement from state police at Skippack.

The assault happened sometime between midnight and 10:30 a.m. Monday on the 900 block of Hamilton Road in Perkiomen Township, according to police.

The circumstan­ces leading up to Harooni’s death were not revealed.

Law enforcemen­t officials located Forman around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday outside a home on the 900 block of Hamilton Road and took him into custody after the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office approved a warrant for murder charges, police said.

The state police’s Skippack

Criminal Investigat­ion Unit and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau

investigat­ed the incident.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office ruled the manner of death a homicide with the cause pending.

Forman was arraigned Thursday afternoon before

Magisteria­l District Judge Albert J. Augustine and remanded to the Montgomery County Correction­al Facility without bail.

Forman’s preliminar­y hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 12 before Augustine.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Pennsylvan­ia State Police Commander James B. Kemm have scheduled a press conference Friday morning to announce details of the murder and arrest.
