Police seek 2 men following mall carjacking

Police allege the men threatened a security officer and stole a man’s car by threatenin­g him with a hammer.

WEST WHITELAND » Police are looking for two men who threatened a security officer at Boscov’s store at the Exton Square Mall, and fled into the parking lot, where they stole a man’s car by threatenin­g him with a hammer.

The West Whiteland Township Police Department have identified Andrew

Joyner, 35, and Gary Dunbar,23, both of Brooklyn N.Y. in the carjacking incident that took place Feb. 8, 2020.

Police say the two men were involved in a theft from the Boscov’s store at the Exton Square Mall. The pair threatened a loss prevention officer with hammers before fleeing on foot. They then ran to a nearby Starbucks restaurant where they forced a male out of his car by threatenin­g him with the hammers. They fled in the stolen vehicle.

A brief police pursuit was initiated by a neighborin­g department. The men s were lost after they entered the Pennsylvan­ia Turnpike. Their vehicle was recovered at the scene and evidence was obtained from the vehicle. The stolen vehicle has not been located.

Police have issued warrants for the arrests of

Joyner and Dunbar. They are also suspects in similar crimes in the region.

Joyner and Dunbar have been charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, retail theft, possession of an Instrument of crime, terroristi­c threats, harassment, fleeing or Attempting to elude police officers, as well as firearm and controlled substance violations.
