TruMark employees gather for annual meeting
TruMark Financial Credit Union held its annual employee meeting this week, with about 370 of the company’s 435 full- and part-time employees taking part. The meeting was an opportunity to reflect, look ahead and to give back.
The event, held Feb. 17 at the Radisson Hotel in Upper Merion, included an update from TruMark Financial CEO Richard C. Stipa about the organization’s direction for 2020. Following the update, employees participated in team building exercises provided by TeamBonding, a Boston, Mass.-based firm that offers team building and training presentations for companies in the U.S., Canada and around the world.
One of the exercises had a philanthropic direction; something a spokeswoman for TruMark Financial said the company tries to add to each annual meeting. The activity, she said, varies from year to year. This year’s activity was “The Team Teddy Rescue Bear” event — designed to build team spirit and make a difference, according to a press release.
Employees worked in teams to assemble teddy bears — filling them with stuffing, dressing them in outfits and providing each with a name and a birth certificate. At the end of the event — TruMark Financial employees had built 120 teddy bears — which were donated to Turning Points for Children’s foster program.
Turning Points for Children brings social and health services to its more than 9,000 clients, primarily in Philadelphia. The organization’s foster program provides “safe and healthy homes for more than 500 children in Philadelphia,” according to the release.
