Hill School campus closed through April 13 over COVID-19 concern
POTTSTOWN » The Hill School has closed its campus as concern over the spread of COVID-19 continues.
Students left campus last Friday for the start of spring break and will not be allowed back until April 13 at the earliest, according to school official.
An email was sent to Hill School families from Headmaster Zack Lehman on Thursday. Here are some of the highlights:
The health and well-being of our entire school community as well as our greater community is our highest priority as we adhere to the CDC’s recommendations. In addition, the Governor of Pennsylvania has just ordered the closure of all Montgomery County schools until at least March 29.
With all of that in mind, and after careful consideration, the School has implemented the following steps regarding the COVID-19 spread:
• Campus will remain closed until Monday, April
13. Boarding students should not plan to return to campus until Monday, April 13 after 1 p.m. We intend to resume all normal daily operations on Tuesday, April 14. Please note that this is a fluid situation that is subject to change.
We will either confirm or extend the April 13 return to campus no later than April 6.
• Virtual Hill, which will include both online instruction and robust online community programming, will begin on Monday, March 30. During the week of March 23, our faculty will transition their curriculum to an online setting. Specific details about Virtual Hill will be communicated next week.
The Hill School is also working to find accommodations for international students who are currently on campus attending the school’s spring break camp.
