Exeter pool closed after staff member tests positive
Crestwood Swimming Pool Association on Hearthstone Court in Exeter Township has closed after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19, the organization said in a Facebook post.
The organization said it has been made aware of a staff member’s positive
COVID-19 test result.
“The staff member is in contact with the PA Department of Health and will not be permitted to return to work until released from quarantine per DOH guidelines,” the post said. “We have been in communication with DOH and we are following their recommendations along with CDC guidelines.”
The pool will be closed until further notice, the post said, while a deep cleaning of the facility is performed.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to answer questions at this time,” the post said. “Please continue to check back for updates.”
The Chick-Fil-A night will be rescheduled. The private club said in an email that the post represents the official statement of the Crestwood Pool of board of directors and its pandemic committee.
“No further information is available at this time,” said Dr. Sean Hyman, chairman of the swimming pool pandemic committee, in an email. “We remain in communication with the PA Department of Health and will be following their specific guidelines regarding this situation and hope to be able to re-open the pool in the near future.”
A Reading Eagle report in June said all local pools are requiring social distancing in the water and on the grounds. Most are requiring mask usage in restrooms and high traffic ground areas. Some are requiring all people entering the facility to have their temperature taken. A few pools are requiring attendees to sign a COVID-19 liability waiver form.
