Conrad Lee Heimbach

-

Conrad Lee Heimbach, 85, long time resident of Pottstown, PA passed away peacefully on December 11, 2020 in Mechanicsville, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marie Emma Heimbach. He is survived by his son Curt Heimbach, daughter in law Heidi, and granddaughter Emma of Mechanicsville, VA. Born in Allentown, PA, Conrad was a devout husband, father, friend and Mason. He was a graduate of Allentown High School and received his B.R.E from United Wesleyan College. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Stanley Flagg/Amcast Industrial for over 30 years. A proud member of Stichter Masonic Lodge, Conrad truly loved freemasonry and was a proud, devoted and very active member. In 2005 he received the highest recognition in freemasonry of 33rd degree. Those who knew Conrad will always remember how wonderful a friend he was, as he was always willing to help a friend in need. His neighbors on Hill Camp Road will remember him snow blowing their driveways for them and walking their dogs just because he wanted to. Over the years he had many hobbies and interests including obtaining his pilots license, woodworking, piano tuning, and singing in the Coventry Singers. In his seventies he found a new love in being a cowboy. He would travel to Wyoming and Montana to help drive cattle on horseback for weeks at a time. Shortly after his wife passed in 2014, he moved into an assisted living facility in Mechanicsville VA so he could be closer to his family. He spent hours doing puzzles, making friends with the staff and residents, playing harmonica for his friends at the facility and enjoying time with his granddaughter Emma. The two of them had so much fun playing harmonica and talking about his cowboy days. He was an eternal optimist and often recited his favorite quote, “Give to the world the best you have, and the best will come back to you.” Conrad was a one of a kind soul and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Due to the current pandemic, a funeral service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send any contributions in his memory to Cedarville United Methodist Church, Pottstown PA.
