S-F tops Methacton in battle of unbeatens

BOYERTOWN 7, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 4 >> The Bears erased a 4-1 deficit with six combined runs in the fourth and fifth innings in Wednesday’s PAC Liberty win over the Vikings.

Trey Yesavage tossed a complete game for Boyertown allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out 13 PV hitters. He also added three hits at the plate and drove in three runs. Evan Hetrick’s three-run homer in the fourth gave the Bears a 5-4 lead they never gave up.

Cole Hertzler (triple) and Brandon Shane both added a pair of hits for Boyertown. For PV, Ethan Ferraro (2-for-3) and Zachary Alderfer (triple) highlighte­d the offense.

SPRING-FORD 16, METHACTON 2 >> After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first, the Rams responded with a six-run bottom of the first that propelled them to a five-inning win over the Warriors on Wednesday.

Aydan McNelly (5 RBI) was the offensive catalyst going 4-for-4 with a double and two triples. Jack Kisela added a double and triple and two RBI, and Jake Books homered and drove in a pair of runs.

Jackson Malouf allowed two runs (no earned) in four innings, striking out six and walking two as he picked up the win. Nolan McCloskey and Kevin Trafford had Methacton’s only two hits.

FRIENDS CENTRAL 10, PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 6>> Though they had a 9-7 edge in hitting, walks, errors and mental mistakes on defense led to the Panthers’ loss Wednesday.

A four-run fourth inning, highlighte­d by Zach Smith’s ground-rule two-run double, bunched for hits in that inning, Smith went 2-for-3 while Owen Taylor and Carlos Quinones were each 2-for-4 to head Perkiomen’s offense.

Softball

DANIEL BOONE 16, WILSON 7 >> The Blazers banged out 18 hits Wednesday as they rolled over the Bulldogs in Berks League play.

Dani Hayes (3-for-4, triple, double) and Hailey Kaba (2-for-3) each drove in three runs for a Boone lineup that had 10 players hit safely. Jenna Heasley was particular­ly prolific, going 4-for-5 in support

of Hayes’ 10-strikeout complete game mound effort. HUN SCHOOL 20, HILL SCHOOL 5 >> The Hun School got out to an early lead that proved to much for the Blues to handle in Wednesday’s MAPL game.

The Hill mounted a rally late in the game, with singles coming from Belle DiCampello and Anna Cowan and a double from Julia Weiss. Colleen Quinn and Kelly Dempsey also had great at-bats for the Blues, both reaching base twice and scoring runs.

Girls Lacrosse

BOYERTOWN 13, SPRINGFORD 12 >> Emma Beidler paced the Bears with four goals in Wednesday’s PAC Liberty win over the Rams. Boyertown erased an 8-6 halftime deficit on the way to its first division win of the season.

Delaney Fox and Ali Pioli both tallied a hat trick and an assist. Allie Schell (assist), Jordan Woodring and Jasmine Fink rounded out the Bears’ scoring.

Mac Maloney scored four times for Spring-Ford. Alyssa Mozi added a hat trick, Madi Doyle a pair of goals and Brenna Whiteside and Abbey Boyer one each in the Rams’ loss.

Elli Ferraro made six saves for Boyertown. lyana Jones made nine for SF. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 16, POPE JOHN PAUL II 3 >> A seven-goal showing from Kaleigh Funk helped PV ease by PJP in a

PAC crossover Tuesday.

Mackenzie Hanlon and Anna Dawson had three goals apiece while Tori Bruno had a goal and two assists for the Vikings.

Boys Lacrosse

PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 13, QUAKERTOWN 6 >> Harrison Gavin, Bosse Wohlers and David Cross scored hat tricks Wednesday to key the Panthers’ non-league victory over Quakertown.

Cross was also credited with two assists, and Gavin one.

Boys tennis

BLAIR AC. 5, HILL SCHOOL 2 >> Dev Sharma and Nikheel Madhoo accounted for the Blues’ points Wednesday in their MAPL match with Blair Academy.

Sharma won a pair of tiebreaker sets at first singles, topping Blair’s Marc Ricra 7-6, 7-5. At fifth singles, Madhoo beat Nick Hansen 6-3, 6-1.

Girls track & field METHACTON DEF. OWEN J. ROBERTS >>

Though this PAC Liberty Division meet is not officially finished, the Warriors have a sufficient lead (96-45) to claim victory Wednesday.

Summer Mellow, Coco Dunham and Madi Eastmure each won pairs of events to lead Methacton, with the pole vault to be completed Friday due to unfavorabl­e weather conditions. Mellow took the 100 and 200, Dunham the discus and long jump and Eastmure the 100 hurdles and high jump.
