Steel River to stage 3 shows this month

The artists of Steel River Playhouse are working hard to bring three live performanc­es to theater lovers.

POTTSTOWN >> With summer camp in full swing the artists of Steel River Playhouse are working hard to bring three live performanc­es to theater lovers.

The first two will be outdoors at the Kimberton Park Amphitheat­er.

“Aesop’s (Oh So Slightly) Updated Fables” will be performed in Kimberton Park on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m.

“This is a great show for the whole family, so come to the Kimberton Park Amphitheat­er, bring a blanket and enjoy the free admission,” said Steel River spokespers­on Betsy Scott Chapman. “You’ll love the new spin on these children’s stories.”

The following week will find “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Kimberton Amphitheat­er, on Saturday, Aug. 21, at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors with children under 12 admitted free.

Taking place at Steel River Playhouse in Pottstown is the popular show “Heathers — High School edition,” performed by Steel River’s student intensive workshop participan­ts.

This show features direction and choreograp­hy by Dann Dunn with assistant direction and choreograp­hy by Lisa Hendriks and music direction by Eileen Fields.

Performanc­es will take place from Aug. 20 through
