Robert E. “Pinky” Pinkerton Sr., age 96, husband of Kathryn E. “Kay” (Habermann) Pinkerton, of Royersford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Born on January 7, 1926 in Philadelph­ia, PA, he was a son of the late Harry and Eva (Umstead) Pinkerton.

Mr. Pinkerton honorably served in the United States Marine Corps, 6th Division, from 1943-1946. During World War II, he was stationed in China, and

also was a survivor of the Battle of Okinawa. He was an active member of Royersford Bible Fellowship, where he often would volunteer his handyman services and played on the church softball league into

his 60s. He retired as a Lieutenant in the Security Department of General Electric. Mr. Pinkerton enjoyed playing baseball in his youth, was an avid Philadelph­ia Phillies fan, and loved to play golf. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

In addition to his wife of 70 years, Mr. Pinkerton is survived by two children, Patti P., wife of Dave Herr of Limerick, PA and Bob E. Jr., husband of Shelly Pinkerton of North East, MD; eight grandchild­ren, Amy Troxell-Dorgan, Heather Troxell-Wertz, Amy Billetta, Pam Loescher, Dana LaMacchia, Derek Herr, Kimberly Jones, and Abby Pinkerton; twenty greatgrand­children; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pinkerton was preceded in death by one daughter,

Kathy Pinkerton, one grandson, David Herr, and two brothers, Harry Pinkerton and Jack Pinkerton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral ceremony at Royersford Bible Fellowship, 431 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 am. Officiatin­g will be Rev. Ronald C. Erb. Burial will be held privately in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford, PA. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:45 am Saturday at the Church.
