Saranne “Sue” Gorski, 88, passed away peacefully in Worcester, PA on Saturday, August 13th surrounded by her family. She was the first born in her family on July 4 1934 in Jeffersonville, PAto Sara Fenstermacher Shainline and Jacob Ervin Shainline. Sue leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband of 67 years, Caesar Julian Gorski, Sr., sons Caesar Julian, Jr., and Gerald Ervin (wife Kathleen), daughter Susan Lynn, Grandchildren Alana (husband Fred), Julian (wife Brenda), and Karlyn, great Granddaughters Vivian (mom Alana) and Jane (dad Julian) and sisters Janet McDonnell (husband Frank) and Kathy Kratz (husband Oscar) as well as many Nieces, Nephews, inlaws, cousins and friends.
Saranne Shainline graduated from CollegevilleTrappe High School in 1952 the year she met Caesar Gorski at Quinny’s, a local Collegeville diner. Caesar had just returned from 3 years in the United States Marine Corp and this meeting was the beginning of their 70 year love affair. They married in 1955 and moved to Creamery in a stone home Caesar constructed for Sue’s wedding present. Valentine’s Day was their favorite holiday, in which each year he bought her a huge chocolate filled heart, all of which she has collected over the years. The Gorski home stands today, as it has for many years, with a heart Caesar constructed on the roof, in honor of their love.
Prior to her health struggles, Sue’s life was centered around her loving husband Caesar, her entire family, traveling the world with the Hoffmans and Bjorkes, her 35 year accomplished career in both real estate sales and brokerage, in which time she was past President of the Montgomery County Board of Realtors. Along with her sisters, Janet and Kathy, they all became partners in The Powerhouse Antiques and Collectibles in Collegeville after their parent’s deaths. She enjoyed spending long weekends and summers with their condo friends in Wildwood Crest, NJ, as well as book club, reading and playing bridge with her Community Club Of Collegeville girlfriends, where she was also a past President, and entertaining and hosting her many diverse groups of friends. Known for her witty, dry sense of humor and spot on advice about life, Sue was a joy to spend time with for all who were lucky enough to have known her.
The Gorski Family would like to express their gratitude and are forever grateful for Sue’s dedicated and loyal caregiver of 5 years, Linda Swann, and the respective staffs of Paoli, Lankenau and Einstein Hospitals, Bryn Mawr Rehab, Meadowood Senior Living and Crossroads Hospice.
