Bentley ends New Haven’s NE-10 win streak at 94

The University of New Haven women’s volleyball team climbed back from two sets down to force a fifth frame with Bentley on Saturday afternoon at Charger Gymnasium, but the visiting Falcons claimed the deciding set to escape with a 3-2 victory.

The loss snaps a 14-match winning streak for the Chargers overall, who fall to 14-5 on the season with a 6-1 Northeast-10 mark. The match also put the first blemish on the New Haven’s 94-0 all-time mark in NE-10 regular season matches. Bentley improves to 12-7 with a 7-2 conference tally after taking the contest by set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 22-25 and 16-14.

Margo Meteyer led the Chargers offensivel­y with 15 kills. She rounded out her eighth double-double of the fall with 23 digs. Kristen Lee also had a doubledoub­le with 12 kills and 18 digs. Kaulana Ane dished out 39 assists and picked up 22 digs. Elise Wilcox made eight saves to post the shutout for Yale (64-2, 1-1-2 Ivy).

Field hockey

DARTMOUTH 4, YALE 2 » Nicole Wells and Kelsey Nolan scored for the visiting Bulldogs in the Ivy League contest. Yale (2-10, 0-4) got 10 saves by Heather Schlesier. The wins moved Dartmouth (5-7, 3-1) into a fourway tie for first place in the Ivy League.
