WESLEYAN2,AMHERST1(OT) » Freshman Adam CowieHaske­ll’s overtime goal at 94:50 lifted the Cardinals in NESCAC action Saturday at Middletown’s Jackson Field. Cowie-Haskell’s ‘golden goal’ is his teamhigh fourth of the season and gave Wesleyan a threeway tie for the Little Three title as all three squads (Wesleyan, Amherst and Williams) finished with 1-1 records.

Matt Lynch also scored for the Cardinals (7-3-2, 5-2).

Greg Singer’s goal (72:40) tied it for Amherst (10-1-2, 6-1-2).

WOMEN’S SOCCER

AMHERST 2, WESLEYAN 0 » At Middletown, Rachael Abernethy scored two late second half goals for the Lord Jeffs, who are ranked No. 15 nationally in Division III. Holly Burwick finished with three saves for Amherst (11-2, 7-1).

Jessica Tollman stopped four shots for the Cardinals (1-9-2, 0-6-1).

FIELD HOCKEY

AMHERST 4, WESLEYAN 0 » At Middletown, Elizabeth Turnbull had two goals and Annika Nygren had a goal and two assists as the Lord Jeffs captured the Little Three title on Saturday. Mary Margaret Stoll also scored for Amherst (11-2, 7-2), which is ranked seventh nationally in Division III.

The Cardinals fell to 3-9, 2-5.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

MIDDLEBURY 3, WESLEYAN 1» Becca Raffel, Olivia Kolodka and Alice Roberts combined for 34 kills to lead the Panthers (9-8, 5-3) Saturday at Silloway Gymnasium in Middletown.

Tyla Taylor collected 17 kills and 15 digs, Sarah Swenson added 13 kills, while Claire Larson had 37 assists for the Cardinals (10-9, 2-7).
