Roosevelt James, Sr., 73, of Mid-Middle town, husband of Betty (Cunningham) James for forty-six years, passed away on Friday, October 17th at Apple Rehab in Middletown. Born in Darlington, SC, he was the son of the late Ervin and Beulah (Samuel) James, Sr. Roosevelt lived in Middletown since the 1960’s and was employed at Middletown Build Middle town ers for over thirty years and at Pratt & Whitney five years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Unit for ed States Army. In addition to his wife, Roosevelt is survived by seven sons, Roosevelt James, Jr., Franklin James, Tyrone James, all of Middletown, Dwayne Jenkins of New Britain, Scott Jenkins of Middletown, Ronnie Bostick of Manchester and Ste Britain, ven Jenkins of TX; two daughters, Debra James Burgess of Middletown and Renee Rogers (Michael), of New Britain; two brothers, James ( Middletown andErvin James, Jr. (Bertha) of Whites Dewey Inez) of ville, NC; three sisters, Doris Hamilton (Charles) and Hattie Mae Murrey, both of Darlington, SC and Tran Doris nie Dubose of Albany, NY; many grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren and a host of nieces and neph-neph ews. He was also predecease­d by four brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24th at 11:00 am at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. Burial will follow in the State Veterans’ Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.
