Tree Swallow Cruise includes wine tasting

Tickets are available for the 12th annual Tree Swallow Cruise and Wine Tasting to benefit the Connecticut River Watch Program, to be held at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 23.

Participants aboard the RiverQuest at Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam will go on a 3-hour sunset cruise on the lower Connecticut River, sample fine local wines from Priam Vineyards and Organic Vintages and seasonal dinner fare. “For the grand finale, participants will have the opportunity to witness the amazing swallow ballet, a unique natural phenomenon that, according to Roger Tory Peterson, ‘eclipsed any other avian spectacle I had ever seen,’” according to a release.
