Tree Swallow Cruise includes wine tasting

Tickets are available for the 12th annual Tree Swallow Cruise and Wine Tasting to benefit the Connecticu­t River Watch Program, to be held at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 23.

Participan­ts aboard the RiverQuest at Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam will go on a 3-hour sunset cruise on the lower Connecticu­t River, sample fine local wines from Priam Vineyards and Organic Vintages and seasonal dinner fare. “For the grand finale, participan­ts will have the opportunit­y to witness the amazing swallow ballet, a unique natural phenomenon that, according to Roger Tory Peterson, ‘eclipsed any other avian spectacle I had ever seen,’” according to a release.
