ARCAND, MAURICE “MOE”

Maurice “Moe” Arcand, 84, of West Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Durham, beloved husband of Mary Jane (Griswold) Arcand, passed peacefully Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Middlesex Hospital Hospice with his family at his side. Moe was born in Waterbury, the son of the late Joseph and Noelya (Larrivee) Arcand. Prior to his retirement, Moe was the owner of Colonial Press in Durham. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Air Force. Moe also served in the U.S. Navy Reserves before transferri­ng to the U.S. Air Force Reserves; where he retired from in 1992 as a Senior Master Sergeant. Moe was a communican­t of Notre Dame Church and a member of the choir. His great loves besides his wife and family were golf, and traveling in their motorhome, visiting all 50 states. Besides his wife, Mary Jane, Moe is survived by two ters, Martha Holmes (Harold) of Middletown, Marie LaBelle of New Hampshire, two sons, Michael cand (Nancy) of Portland, Eugene Arcand of Florida, a sister, Claudette Orio of New Hampshire, three brothers, Lionel Arcand of Florida, Roger Arcand of Middletown, Richard Arcand of Florida, nine children, Lindsey, Andrew, William, Matthew, Colin, Krysta, Jonathan, Molly, Daniel, three great children, Rhiannon, Adrianna, Mathilda, and many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by a son, Philip Arcand, brother, Andre Arcand, and son-ina law, Donald LaBelle. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, Durham. Burial with military honors will be in Mica Hill etery.
