• Nitish Patidar of Glastonbury, an assistant professor of management in the School of Business at Quinnipiac University, has been selected to receive the Edgar C. Hayhow Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives, according to a release. The annual award is presented to the authors of the best Journal of Healthcare Man-
agement article. Patidar’s article, “Succession Planning and Financial Performance: Does Competition Matter?” analyzed the impact of succession planning programs on their financial performances of hospitals. “I am honored to receive this award from the American College of Healthcare Executives at the national meeting of the healthcare congress in Chicago,” Patidar said in the release. “This award means a lot to me. Being recognized by such a prestigious organization shows my research is making an impact in the industry.” Patidar, who joined the Quinnipiac faculty in 2014, has a doctorate in health services administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham; a bachelor’s of medicine from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya University of Madhya Pradesh, India; and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Kentucky.
• Jessica Castillo, manager of the McDonald’s at 280 Branford Road in North Branford, was among winners of McDonald’s “Outstanding Restaurant Manager” awards for Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. The award is presented to managers who “display outstanding performance in leadership, commitment to customers, and dedication to running their restaurant to the highest quality,” according to a release.
