Concerts set for this summer in Higganum

HIGGANUM » The free outdoor summer concert series, sponsored by the HK Recreation Department begins on July 14.

Bring a blanket or a chair to enjoy an evening of live entertainment on the town green An ice cream truck will be on site and the Higganum Market will also be available until 7 p.m.

Coyote Blue, Crossroads Driving School, Higganum Pharmacy, Higganum Veterinary Clinic, Higganum Village Market, RAD Computing and Killingworth True Value have made donations to help support the series.

• Friday, July 14: All Funk’d Up: All Funk’d Up is a high energy Funk, R & B, and Groove dance band comprised of seasoned musicians who have played the Connecticut Festival, events, nightclubs, and private function venues for decades. The band is 5 pieces: female vocals/ keyboards, male vocals/ congas/bongos/percussion, guitar, bass, and drums. • Friday, July 21: Wooden Horse: Wooden Horse is New England’s premier Crosby, Stills & Nash and America musical tribute act. • Friday, July 28: Leaf Jumpers: Leaf Jumpers are a long-time Connecticut band which has played all over the East Coast. Performing for the past twenty years, the band has a long list of accomplishments and a strong musical background. As one of the few Adult Alternative Rock bands in the region, the band’s set list includes hits from bands like REM, U2, Counting Crows, Matchbox 20, The Fray, Mumford and Sons, Sister Hazel, The Police, Peter Gabriel and more, as well as their originals.
