Jesse grew up in Belleville, Pennsylvania and graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1964. He earned an MS in Education from Marywood University in 1983. In his role at CWS, Jesse traveled throughout Connecticut, downstate New York, and Rhode Island raising awareness of and support for the CWS’s hunger and disaster relief aid locally and around the world, in part by organizing hundreds of CROP Walks throughout the region. In his retirement, he continued to support church and community work. He served as sabbatical pastor at First Congregational Church of Portland, where he and Eloise are members, and at the UCC Church in Chester.
He was a lifelong Steelers, Yankees and Penn State fan, and spent every moment he could on the beach, whether in Florida, New Jersey, or the Connecticut shore.
Jesse is survived by his wife Eloise (Buckwalter), his son Bradford and his wife Susanne, his daughter Shelly King and her husband Matthew, his granddaughter Allison, and his brother John Glick and his wife Dawn. Along with his parents, Jesse was predeceased by his granddaughter Acacia King.
