Art Association welcomes speaker

The next meeting of the East Hampton Art Association will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 7 p.m. at the East Hampton Community Center at 105 Main Street. Following a potluck supper at 6 p.m., the meeting will feature a longtime member Lesley Braren, who will present a program called “Beyond the Artwork.”

Braren has been making art in one form or another all her life She has been a devoted plein-air painter for many years, working in oil and watercolor as well as collage, pen and ink, and monotypes. A few years ago she started searching for greater meaning for what she was doing. She has taken an interesting journey in her creative pursuit. She felt that her story might benefit others and may ignite a new spark or direction.
