Fri­day, June 15: Danny Green Trio CD re­lease concert for “One Day It Will,” with a pre-concert mas­ter class. Green will per­form with his long­stand­ing trio fea­tur­ing bassist Justin Grin­nell and drummer Julien Can­telm on Fri­day, June 15 at 8 p.m. at The Buttonwood Tree, 605 Main St., Mid­dle­town. Satur­day, June 16: Jon McAuliffe in concert, 8 p.m., $15. While his main in­flu­ences are pri­mar­ily ba­sic Amer­i­cana (blues, rhythm & blues, early rock & roll, pre-plas­tic coun­try mu­sic, gospel, tra­di­tional, mod­ern and post-mod­ern folk mu­sic, and a smat­ter­ing of pop), his ap­pre­ci­a­tion for jazz from the early 1920s up to and in­clud­ing the be­bop era, have had an ef­fect in ways that aren't im­me­di­ately no­ticed. His pri­mary song­writ­ing in­flu­ences are com­mon enough (Bob Dy­lan, Gor­don Light­foot, Percy May­field, Chuck Berry, Hank Williams, Sr., Tampa Red and John Hi­att to name a few) and his vo­cal stylings re­flect Ray Charles, the early Elvis Pres­ley, Dy­lan, Light­foot, Hi­att, Levon Helm, and Stephen Stills among oth­ers. Satur­day, June 30: Mu­sic fes­ti­val and silent auc­tion at Ly­man Or­chards dur­ing the Food Trucks on the Farm Fes­ti­val. No ad­mis­sion charge. Some of the best food trucks around will be serv­ing their per­son­al­ized cui­sine, and Ly­man Or­chards will debut their new hard ap­ple cider, 'Con­necti­cut Crisp.' A silent auc­tion will fea­ture a Fender elec­tric gui­tar and amp, a new acous­tic gui­tar, art­works, jew­elry from Mallove's Jewel­ers and oth­ers, Spa pack­ages, Restau­rant gift cer­tifi­cates and much more! Pro­ceeds from the auc­tion will help Buttonwood pur­chase a new sound sys­tem and light­ing. Live mu­sic will be heard through­out the day, from 11 am to 5:30 or so, fea­tur­ing a num­ber of our fa­vorite lo­cal groups and per­form­ers, in­clud­ing Char­ter Oak Band, Andy Buzzi, Mat­tabes­set String Col­lec­tive, the Terri and Rob Duo, Han­naH's Field, Steve Ded­man (of The Ply­wood Cow­boys), and Washboard Slim and The Blue­lights.
