‘Get your girl­friends to­gether for a night out’ at Long Wharf

“Get your girl­friends to­gether for a fun night out!” says Long Wharf The­atre in of­fer­ing a spe­cial on group tick­ets for “Menopause the Mu­si­cal,” which plays best to groups of women and will set­tle in for twoplus weeks at Long Wharf The­atre from Fri­day, June 15, to July 1.

The setup: Four women at a lin­gerie sale have noth­ing in com­mon but a black lace bra mem­ory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex . ... You get the pic­ture. The fun is in the joy­ful mu­si­cal par­ody set to clas­sic tunes from the 1960s-1980s that you’ll rec­og­nize in “Puff My God I’m Drag­gin’ ” and “My Hus­band Sleeps Tonight.”

GFour Pro­duc­tions, win­ner of 44 Tony Awards, brings in the laught-filled 90-minute pro­duc­tion, which had a brief run last year at the Shu­bert and a longer run in 2011 at Long Wharf. The New Haven cast is Michelle E. White as the pro­fes­sional woman, Cherie Price as the soap star, Roberta B. Wall as Earth Mother and Karen Gediss­man as the Iowa house­wife.
