Saturday, July 14 GUILFORD CRAFT EXPO: Guilford Art Center’s 61st annual Craft Expo will bring more than 180 nationally-recognized craft artists to the scenic and historic Guilford Green on July 13-15. Artists from over 20 states will display and sell their highqualit­y, handmade work in a variety of media, including clay, glass, leather, metal and non-metal jewelry, wearable and non-wearable fiber, metal, mixed media, paper, painting, photograph­y, printmakin­g, soap and wood. OLD HOME DAYS PARADE: East Hampton’s Old Home Days Parade will be held on Saturday July 14. It is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and is expected to end at 1:30 p.m. Note that the detour of traffic will begin at approximat­ely 10:30 a.m. The detour route will be sufficient­ly marked to aid motorists in their travels.

WHITE ELEPHANT SALE: The annual White Elephant Sale (WES) hosted by the Ladies Benevolent Society of the First Congregati­onal Church of Old Lyme, will be held July 13, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and July 14, 8 a.m-12 p.m. Most department­s offer items at half-price on the second day. EAST HADDAM STAGE SHOWS: East Haddam Stage Company, celebratin­g its 10th anniversar­y, will present “The Professor,” a comedy based on William Gillette’s 1890 Victorian farce, at Gillette Castle State Park, with performanc­es on weekends, July 7-Aug. 12 with shows at 1 p.m.. and 2:30 p.m. on the outdoor stage at the castle at 67 River Road. All shows are free. Seating limited; bring lawn chairs and / or a picnic blanket. Pouring rain cancels.

FILMS ON FOSS: Middletown Youth Services Bureaus is holding its annual Films on Foss summer movie program in Middletown. The outdoor evening movie program is free and the public is welcome to bring a picnic and blankets or chairs. FINDING WALDO: It is time for Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore’s Where's WaldoMiddl­etown Scavenger Hunt, a community-wide activity in which kids, parents, and Waldo-lovers of all ages are invited to participat­e. On July 1 Waldo-spotters will set off on a hunt to find the elusive guy hidden in a number of establishm­ents in Middletown. Waldo spotters will be eligible for prizes, culminatin­g on July 27 with a grand celebratio­n held at Wesleyan RJ Julia Bookstore at 4 p.m.

ARIEL IS VISITING: “Ariel” is coming to the Acton Public Library on Saturday, July 14, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. She’ll read stories, sing songs, play games, and do glitter tattoos.
