NORTH HAVEN — Ryan Barnicle of Cromwell and John Huston of Deep River received doctor of medicine degrees May 13 from the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.

University of Vermont

BURLINGTON — Alice Ochterski of Middlefiel­d earned the Kirby Flower Smith Latin Prize presented at the University of Vermont's College of Arts and Sciences awards ceremony May 18.

The prize is named after a Latinist, UVM class of 1884, and later professor of classics at Johns Hopkins and given in his memory by his wife in 1919. Awarded annually by the UVM Classics Department, it recognizes superior performanc­e in Latin language and literature.
