Fire, police departments to help restock food bank
EAST HAMPTON — The police and fire departments will join forces on Saturday to help re-stock the East Hampton Food Bank.
Firefighters and police officers will be on hand outside the Stop & Shop store at 11 East High St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday as part of the annual “Stuff a Cruiser” food drive program.
They will be collecting non-perishable food items and toiletries for the food bank.
In particular, food bank official are asking for donations of hot cereal, canned fruit, tea, hot chocolate, baked beans and canned tuna as well as deodorant, shampoo and conditioner.
However, the food bank will gladly accept “all nonexpired, non-perishable food items and toiletries,” organizers said.
Police and fire officials are encouraging residents to “please stop by to say ‘hello’ and make a donation.”
