Alexandra Aguiar, of Cheshire, has been selected for the Young Adult Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall. She will perform trumpet in February with the Young Adult Honors Wind Ensemble with performers from 29 other states, Canada and Australia. Participation in one of the Young Adult Honors Performance Series Ensembles is limited to the highest-rated 18-25 year old instrumentalists from across the world. Aguiar has studied music for 12 years and played through high school and college. In February, finalists will come together in New York City for five days and will have the opportunity to learn from a world-renowned conductor, work with other finalists, and get a taste of New York City. The Honors Choral Performance will take place Sunday, Feb. 10, and is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased beginning 60 days prior to the performance through the Carnegie Hall box office.
