‘The Bikinis’ celebrates 1960s beach parties
BERLIN — The Connecticut Cabaret Theatre presents “The Bikinis – A New Musical Beach Party,” by Ray Roderick and James Hindman, with musical arrangements by Joe Baker, directed by Kris McMurray and musical direction by TJ Thompson. The show opens Feb. 15, with performances continuing through March 16.
That girl group from the sixties everyone loves is bringing back the sun, fun and all the great songs with a show that promises to get everyone dancing in the aisles.
The Bikinis include Jodi (played by Maria Soaft) and Annie (played by Erin Liddell), two sisters from Paramus New Jersey; Karla, (played by Emily Gray) their slightly manipulative first cousin from Philly; and best friend Barbara, (played by Erica Whitfield), from Staten Island. They relive their heyday and beyond in a nonstop celebration of songs, with a show that promises to get everyone dancing in the aisles with hits like “It’s In His Kiss,” “Heat Wave,” “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’,” “When Will I Be Loved,” “I’m Every Woman,” “I Will Survive,” and “It’s Raining Men.”
“The Bikinis” runs every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:15pm. Tickets are $35 and are now on sale. For tickets, all the box office at 860-829-1248. Reservations are recommended.
