Durham Li­brary mini-golf fundraiser

DURHAM — The Durham Pub­lic Li­brary will host its first “Fore! the Li­brary” minigolf event, March 2-3.

Or­ga­nized by PALS: The Friends of the Durham Pub­lic Li­brary, the two-day event will raise funds to sup­port li­brary pro­grams and ser­vices.

The fol­low­ing busi­nesses and or­ga­ni­za­tions have agreed to be event spon­sors: Cham­pi­onship Spon­sor John­son Brunetti In­vest­ments, Dou­ble Ea­gle Spon­sor In­dian Springs Golf Club, and Ea­gle Spon­sor Lyman Or­chards. “Birdie” spon­sors in­clude At­tor­ney An­nette Wil­lis, Chap­man Man­u­fac­tur­ing, Durham Lions Club, Durham Vet­eri­nary Hos­pi­tal, Pe­di­atric and Ado­les­cent Med­i­cal Group of Mid­dle­town, and Perma Treat Cor­po­ra­tion.

“Par” spon­sors in­clude: Betsy and Bob Booz, Brown­stone Psy­cho­log­i­cal As­so­ci­ates, Core Club, Durham Fam­ily Eye Care, Fi­nan­cial Ben­e­fits Un­lim­ited, Glazer Den­tal, and Miller Fence. Ad­di­tional spon­sor­ship op­por­tu­ni­ties re­main avail­able to busi­nesses and or­ga­ni­za­tions.

On Satur­day and Sun­day, the li­brary will be trans­formed into an 18-hole minia­ture golf course spread­ing through­out the main floor of the li­brary and fin­ish­ing at the “19th hole” on the lower level. Satur­day March 2 from 5-9 p.m. is an adult only event. For $25 per per­son, adults 21+ can en­joy beer, wine, and ap­pe­tiz­ers as well as try­ing their hands at golf­ing through the stacks.

Sun­day, March 3, 10 a.m.-3 p.m,. will be Fam­ily Day, with minigolf, snacks, and crafts. Tick­ets are $5 per per­son, up to a max­i­mum of $20 per fam­ily. Chil­dren 4 and un­der are ad­mit­ted free.

Tick­ets went on sale Feb. 2. Tick­ets can be pur­chased in per­son at the Durham Pub­lic Li­brary or on the Li­brary web­site: http:// www.durham­li­brary.org/.

PALS: The Friends of the Durham Pub­lic Li­brary was founded in 1983 with the goal of pro­mot­ing aware­ness and en­hanc­ing us­age of the Li­brary. PALS raises funds for pro­grams, ma­te­ri­als, equip­ment, and ser­vices not in­cluded in the town’s Li­brary bud­get.
