No. 10 Molinari, No. 11 Finau join field
The Travelers Championship added two more commitments Monday morning with Francisco Molinari and Tony Finau, the world’s 10th- and 11thranked players, respectively.
This is the fourth straight week that Travelers has had players commit months before the tournament begins in June. Previously, No. 2 Brooks Koepka, No. 4 Justin Thomas and No. 5 Bryson DeChambeau all committed. Molinari won his first major championship last July, capturing the Open Championship, becoming the first Italian to win that event. He went 5-0 during the Ryder Cup to help European side defeat the United States and won the European Tour’s seasonlong Race to Dubai.
Finau hasn’t won since the 2016 Puerto Rico Open, but finished in the top 10 in three of the four majors last year and is currently 17th in the FedERxCup standings for this season.
In three straight trips to the Travelers Championship from 2015-17, Finau finished in the top 25 each time. Molinari made the cut in his two previous appearances at the tournament (2015-16).
