MIDDLETOWN –Two people are facing numerous drug charges after a routine motor vehicle stop Feb. 7 revealed they were both hiding drugs in their clothing, police said.

The driver, Hashana Hicks, 25, of Portland Street, Middletown, and her passenger, Luis DeJesus, 24, of Warren Street, Hartford, were held on bond overnight until their arraignment Friday in state i Superior Court in Middletown.

An officer parked at the intersection of Pearl and Liberty Streets saw an Acura traveling on Pearl Street with tinted windows so dark that he couldn’t see the occupants of the car, reports said.

Hicks voluntarily handed over a bag of marijuana and then officers noticed a bulge in her pants which turned out to be 30 packets of heroin, police said.

She also had a rock of crack cocaine in her pants, police said. DeJesus began to swear at officers as they tried to determine if he had drugs stuffed in his pants as well, reports said.

Officers located crack cocaine stuffed in his buttocks and in his pants worth about $723 on the street, reports said.
