CORBETT, LAURA TRUNCALI

-

It is with deep sadness that the family of Laura Truncali Corbett, 32, announce her swift and merciful passing on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Laura was born and raised by her loving family in Farmington, CT. She was a 2004 Farmington High School graduate, and continued on to Providence College, where she double majored in Psychology and History. During her time as a PC Friar, she discovered her calling to help others, and after graduating magna cum laude in 2008, enrolled in Fordham University’s graduate school where she studied to be a school counselor.

For eight years, she dedicated her life to the students at Nathan Hale Ray High School in East Haddam where, in addition to providing a supportive and caring environment, she served as a student council advisor, class advisor, and Tribes leader. A new resident of Wethersfield, CT, Laura enjoyed planning renovations and loved making their house a home for her husband Chris, and dog, Roxy.

Though Laura was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth, her life was hardly defined by the condition but rather an unmatched love for those she held dear – especially her true soulmate and the love of her life – her husband, Chris. Those who met Laura would never know the impact of the condition on her life had it not been for the innumerable ways she helped advance the mission of the CF Foundation; most notably, as an ambassador and spokesperson for Hartford’s Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Finest – a fundraising endeavor honoring men and women of the capital region for their outstanding contributions to the community. Despite periodic health setbacks, Laura’s family remains grateful for the countless beautiful memories of a life lived to the fullest. She will be remembered by those who knew her best for her unwavering strength and sense of humor, caring nature, acts of selflessness, love of family, the beach, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and an insatiable appetite for Gilmore Girls, Hallmark Movies, and of course, Dingdongs.

Laura leaves behind an adoring family including her dedicated husband Chris Corbett, parents Pam and Bruce Truncali, brother Joe Truncali and his wife Danielle, brother Alex Truncali and his fiancée Brisas Flores, sister Michelle Truncali, and nieces Eloise, Everly, and Lola Truncali. She also leaves behind father and mother-in-law Michael and Tracey Corbett, as well as brother-in-law Ryan Corbett and his wife Jessica Infante. She is also survived by many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues, and the family dog Harvey- whom she loved dearly.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Friday (Feb. 22) from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday (Feb. 23) at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville. All are kindly asked to meet directly at Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Farmington. In lieu of flowers, help Laura finish what she started – to search for a cure, by making a donation to the CT Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 101 Centerpoint Drive, Suite 107, Middletown, CT 06457.
