UConn has posted its 2019 football roster on its official site and there are no more additional departures after a rather eventful several months since the end of the 2018 season.

A total of 20 players on the roster in the 2018 finale who had remaining eligibility are no longer on the team including offensive starters Tyler Davis and Keyion Dixon, defensive starters Darrian Beavers, Kevin Murphy and Marshe Terry as well as kicker Michael Tarbutt.

All the freshmen who signed in either December or February are on the roster and have been assigned numbers including receiver Kevens Clercius getting the No. 6, Jasper Howard’s old number.

Graduate transfer quarterback Mike Beaudry, running back Art Thompkins, receiver Ardell Brown and linebacker D.J. Morgan, who could push for significant roles, are on the roster as is transfer quarterback Micah Leon but graduate transfer defensive lineman Michael Hinton opted to head to Tulane.

BLAKE COMMITS

Reyan Blake, a defensive back at Seminole Ridge High School in Loxahatchee, Fla., became the fourth player from the Class of 2020 to commit to UConn this week.

The 6-foot, 185-pound Blake has been a part of Seminole Ridge’s track and field team and part of the program to win the 2018-19 Florida Class A Boys’ Weightlifting championship team.

It is the second straight June that has seen UConn secure four commitments. The Huskies have had some success with the early commitments with Kevon Jones, Oneil Robinson, Heron Maurisseau and Jordan Morrison among the early commits in the Class of 2018.
