OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

⏩ JP Shohfi, Yale: Caught nine passes for 189 yards and a touchdown against the Ivy League team that had allowed the fewest passing yards per game this season. Shohfi opened the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown catch in Yale’s 45-10 win over Columbia. He now ranks fifth in program history with 2,091 receiving yards.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

⏩ Dan Negron, Trinity and Kevin Peprah, Sacred Heart:

Both Negron and Peprah had three tackles for loss. Negron finished with 10 tackles in a 21-7 win over Amherst and Peprah had eight stops in 24-17 win over Bryant.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

⏩ David Estevez, Wesleyan: Returned three kickoffs for 123 yards including a 94-yard touchdown. Estevez also had six carries for 38 yards and two touchdowns, three catches and threw a touchdown pass in 27-21 overtime win over Williams to give Cardinals Little Three title.

HOMETOWN FOCUS

⏩ Anthony Petrosinel­li, Jack Purcell, Kevin Woodring, Middlebury: Westport’s Petrosinel­li, Darien’s Purcell and Norwalk’s Woodring are starting offensive linemen for a Middlebury team that ran for more than 200 yards in three of the last four games. They helped the Panthers top Hamilton to improve to 8-0. If Middlebury wins at Tufts on Saturday, it would complete the program’s first undefeated season since 1972.

43: Carries by Julius Chestnut in Sacred Heart’s win over Bryant, one shy of Ron Stopkowski’s program record set in 1992. Chestnut ran for 203 yards as he became the seventh Sacred Heart player with more than 1,000 rushing yards in a season.

90: Length of touchdown reception for Southern Connecticu­t’s Isaiah Sanders in loss to Stonehill.
