Ageducation program to hold open house
MIDDLETOWN — Middletown High School boasts one of the top ranked public school choice programs in CT for high school students: the Middletown Agriculture Science & Technology program. The program ranked #1 in CT by the CT Department of Education in their most recent 2017 assessment, in all four curriculum areas: Animal Science, Plant Science, Natural Resources and Ag Engineering. The program offers an individualized, handson learning experience with all the benefits and academic rigor of a comprehensive high school education.
Applications are now being accepted for 202021 students. An Open House for interested middle school students and their families will be held Nov. 12 at the Agriculture Science Center, located at Middletown High School, 200 LaRosa Lane, Middletown.
The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. and feature an interactive, selfguided tour of the agriculture facility where interested students can learn more about program offerings and meet staff and students, with a brief informational session to follow. The Ag Science curriculum offers instruction in Animal Science, Plant Science, Natural Resources and Agricultural Engineering, in conjunction with a comprehensive academic program at Middletown High School.
The Middletown Regional Agriculture Science & Technology Program is available to high school students from Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Durham, East Hampton, Essex, Guilford, Haddam, Killingworth, Madison, Middlefield, Middletown, Portland, Rocky Hill, Old Saybrook and Westbrook. All tuition and transportation costs are provided by the sending town.
