Foundation­s, chamber holding conference, awards event

BRANFORD — The Shoreline Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation­s of Branford and Guilford will present the second annual Nonprofit Conference and Awards Celebratio­n on Nov. 13 atWoodWind­s in Branford. The event features timely workshops and roundtable discussion­s targeted specifical­ly for members of the nonprofit community.

The keynote speaker is Amy E. Fenollosa, Director of Learning & Senior Facilitato­r at The Latimer Group. The Nonprofit Conference's awards ceremony recognizes individual­s who exhibit exemplary commitment to the organizati­ons they serve. This year’s awards winners are:

Volunteer of the Year: Peter Hawes, Guilford Performing Arts Festival; Staff Member of the Year: Phillip Guliano, Orchard House Adult Day Center; Executive Director of the Year: Janet Alfano, The Diaper Bank; and Board Member of the Year: Linda Vigorito, SARAH, Inc. The awards will be presented at a luncheon during the halfday conference.

The conference is geared toward nonprofit boards, volunteers, staff and leadership. Tickets are $75 for the day, includes breakfast, lunch and multiple workshops.
