EQUIPMENT COLLECTION: Wheels for the World, a ministry of Joni and Friends, IDC in CA, collects mobility equipment, sends them for refurbishing and then distributes them to people who need them and can't afford them all around the world. DURHAM WINTER MARKET: The Durham Market has moved to the Durham Activity Center, 350 Main St., Durham, above the Core Club Gym, and will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. Shoppers, use the side entrance of the building; there is an elevator for easy access and a stairwell. Restrictions will be in place and santizer will be provided. Shoppers will be asked to go through the market in a oneway direction.
SKATING RINK FREE: Admission to the Middletown skating rink at Veterans Park, on Walnut Hill Road, is now free for Middletown residents. Skate rentals are also no-cost to those living in town. Hours are Saturdays and Sundays through March 28 from noon to 4 p.m. Nonresidents are charged: adults, $5; children, $3 and $4 for skate rentals. FREDERICK LEE LECTURES: Madison Historical Society’s 14th annual Frederick Lee Lectures will explore the topics of enslavement, racism, and social injustice. Lectures held on the second Sunday of the month. 4 p.m., Jan. 10, Dr. Matthew Warshauer, Professor of History at Central Connecticut State University, returns to the Lee Lectures in January to open the series. His lecture, “Onions and Sugar,” explores the connection between Connecticut farms, the shipping trade, and the West Indies.
