Area college students lauded for high achievemen­t

University of Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alexandra Church of Clinton received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Alabama during fall commenceme­nt Dec. 12.

Northeaste­rn University

BOSTON — Northeaste­rn University recognizes students who were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester, which ended in December.

Students must carry a full program of at least four courses, have a qualitypoi­nt average of 3.5 or greater out of a possible 4.0 and carry no single grade lower than a C- during the course of their college career to be honored.

University of New Hampshire

DURHAM, N.H. — The following students graduated from the University of New Hampshire in December. Those who received summa cum laude status graduated with a gradepoint average between 3.85 and 4.0; those who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA between 3.65 and 3.84; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.64.

They are: Taylor Luke of East Hampton, and Meghan Gamache of Higganum (cum laude), both earned bachelor of science degrees in Recreation Management and Policy — Therapeuti­c Recreation; and Kristina DeAngulo of Middletown graduated with a master of science degree in occupation­al therapy.

Georgia Institute of Technology

ATLANTA — Kaitlyn Tran of Portland made the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designatio­n is awarded to undergradu­ate students who have earned a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Quinnipiac University

HAMDEN — The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester at Quinnipiac University. To qualify, they must earn a GPA of at least 3.5 with no grade lower than C. Fulltime students must complete at least 14 credits in a semester, with at least 12 credits that have been graded on a letter grade basis to be eligible.
