Area college students lauded for academic achievemen­ts

DURHAM, N.H. — The following students have been named to the dean’s list at the University of New Hampshire for the fall 2020 semester.

highest honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade-point average of 3.85 or better out of a possible 4.0. Those with a 3.65 to 3.84 average are awarded high honors, and students whose grade point average is 3.5 through 3.64 are awarded honors.

NEWTON, Mass. — Olivia Beckwith, a Lasell University student from Higganum, presented at the Fall Career Readiness Symposium in December. Beckwith took part in a presentati­on for a course on British Literature, “Magic in Shakespear­e’s Tempest: Is it Transforma­tional?”

FAYETTE, Iowa — Upper Iowa University announces Alexandra Dombrowski, an emergency/ disaster management major from East Hampton, made the dean’s list for the fall 2020 semester. To be honored, the undergradu­ate must have earned a minimum 3.50 grade-point average and be enrolled as a full-time student.

College of the Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. — The following area students were named to College of the Holy Cross dean’s list for outstandin­g academic achievemen­t during the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year. To qualify, students must pass four or more letter-graded courses with no failing grades during the semester, and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

They are: Allison Molski of Middletown, Class of 2022, majoring in Chemistry; Amanda Wilderman of Westbrook, Class of 2022, majoring in Political Science; Sophie Cassarino of Durham, Class of 2024, undeclared; and Riley Millburne of Chester, Class of 2024, undeclared.
