EPOCH TICKETS ON SALE: “Across the Line,”n original Breaking Silences Theater Production at Epoch Arts, 27 Skinner St., East Hampton, is scheduled for April 24 at 1 and5 p.m. and April 25 at 1 p.m. The performances will be held outdoors, rain or shine. AG SCHOLARSHIP: For the 36th year, Middlesex County Farm Bureau Agricultural scholarship applications are now available at county high school guidance offices and from the Middlesex County Farm Bureau office. Applicants must be residents of Middlesex County; attending school in Middlesex County; or a Middlesex County Farm Bureau family member. College students and high school seniors are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The deadline is May 1. CHAMBER FOOD DRIVE: Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce’s Real Estate Council will host a food drive, 10 a.m-2 p.m. April 17, at ShopRite of Cromwell, 47 Shunpike Rd. Cromwell. All donated food will go to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and will be facilitated by the Amazing Grace Food Pantry and St. Vincent DePaul.
ROSE GARDEN CLEANUP: Volunteers are invited to the New Britain Rose Garden in Walnut Hill Park at 9 a.m. April 17, prepare the garden for the new season. The work will continue till 12 noon. TUTORING SERVICES: Literacy Volunteers Valley Shore offers individual, flexible and free English Basic and English as a Second Language tutoring to all adult residents in its shoreline service area. LVVS is now accepting applications for residents to become a student and receive tutoring services from our volunteer tutors. Tutors assist students to read, write, and speak English and focus on the student’s work and life skills. SUMMER CAMP: Registraion is now open for Country School’s Summer Fun and Learning Program. The camp is not limited to students at The Country School; children in grades PreS-8 are welcome to attend the week-long programs, all of which take place on the school’s 23-acre campus in Madison. GOLF CENTER SCHOLARSHIP: Essex Indoor Golf Center is offering a scholarship in support of local high school golf team members pursuing higher education opportunities. SHAD MUSEUM OPENING: Haddam Shad Museum, 212 Saybrook Road, Higganum, will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m .April 4 to June 13. The Shad Museum, founded by Dr. Joseph Zaientz of Haddam Neck, focuses on the importance of the Shad fishing industry to Haddam and the lower Connecticut River Valley.
