James Palmer Wayne, Sr., 73, of Milford, beloved husband of 45 years to Ann Wayne, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 13, 2021. Born on May 31, 1947 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Carl and Ethel Wayne. Jim was the proud president and owner of Wayne Tire for over 50 years. He was an extremely active member in the Milford community serving as a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Milford and board member of the Milford Red Cross as well as volunteeri­ng for various charity events. Jim enjoyed golfing and sailing which he often did on his many trips to Puerto Rico with his family and friends. Above all else, Jim always wore a smile on his face and was ready to help his family, fellow neighbors and friends. He was always doing something for someone. Jim was a wonderful husband, father and grandfathe­r and a faithful friend. His presence will be missed but never forgotten, especially his wonderful stories and his fabulous sense of humor. Along with his loving wife, Jim leaves behind his cherished children, Jacqueline Ann (Timothy) Maloney, James P. Wayne, Jr., and Nicole Wayne; grandchild­ren, Brendan Maloney, James P. Wayne, III, and Shannon Maloney; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predecease­d by his sister, Carol Bogaars. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a walkthroug­h wake on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford. Masks will be required and social distance protocols will be followed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary Church (Precious Blood Parish), 70 Gulf St., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Masks will be required. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford.
