Authenticity is bar and grill’s recipe

MIDDLETOWN — It was a shared passion for culinary arts and Mediterranean cuisine that brought childhood friends Vasileios Gkavos and Thodoris Dimitrakopoulos from neighboring villages in Greece to Middletown to launch a restaurant.

Mediterranean Flavors Bar and Grill opened up at 825 Saybrook Road in mid-July. Prior to that, it was Ninos Restaurant and Bar, and before that, Tommy’s Restaurant.
