Cat Tales honors officer with Advocate For Animals award
MIDDLETON — The Cat Tales no-kill shelter has chosen Cromwell Animal Control Officer Cheryl Gagnon for this year’s Advocate For Animals Award.
This honors a person within the community who significantly influences the quality of animals’ lives through their devotion to animal welfare, according to a press release.
This person also supports Cat Tales’ mission through their commitment of their time, expertise or professional services.
“We at Cat Tales believe it’s essential to the success of animal rescue to acknowledge those who support animal welfare in our community,” President Deb Bagley said in a prepared statement. “Cheryl’s greatest asset is her ability to educate the community about animal care and welfare concerns. By doing so, she’s bridging the gap between people and animals and as a result, creates a better place for both.”
The award will be presented at the annual Cats in the Castle fundraising Sept. 11 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville at 6 p.m. For tickets, go to cattalesct.org/citc.
Cat Tales is celebrating over 20 years of service, caring and commitment to the community’s cats and kittens, according to the agency. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the quality of life, and improving the well-being of abused, neglected and abandoned cats and kittens within the community.
