Young artist paints seaside mural on shop
CLINTON — As Logan Cummings stood on a step ladder, putting the finishing touches on his mural in downtown Clinton, enthusiastic fans stopped by and car horns honked in appreciation of his work.
“It’s magic,” says Dave Robertson, owner of Scottish Dave’s Pub across the street, as he breezes by on his way to the bank.
The painting, depicting a sailboat that looks ready to tack, a red buoy and seagulls, was commissioned by Donna Uricchio, co-owner of the Coffee Break.
The latex paint mural, some 12-by-36 feet, covers the eastern facing outside wall of Fringe Modern & Vintage, right next to Coffee Break.
Work is currently underway at the well-loved Coffee Break, with plans to reopen in early fall, funded by a state grant intended to improve the downtown.
