Art tour to go through Essex, Chester, Deep River
42 locals will exhibit their work at 22 locations
From an RV parked in Deep River to homes overlooking the Connecticut River, the annual River Valley Art Tour will wind through Essex, Chester and Deep River, stopping at 22 different locations where 42 local artists will exhibit their work.
The event will be held Sept. 18 and 19 from 10 to 5 p.m.
In some incidences, artists are sharing a space so tour-goers will be able to see the diverse work of several artists under one roof, according to a press release. All art will be for sale, and in many locations, beverages and snacks will be served.
There will also be work by all the tour artists on the walls of Essex Art Association Gallery, 10 N. Main St., and, on Sept. 17, there will be a reception at the gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. with food and drinks.
River Valley Artists, a group of Chester, Essex and Deep River artists (and a few others from neighboring towns), will also show their work at Earth and Fire Art Studio in Essex. Mask wearing will be requested indoors, the news release said.
There are brochures with maps and images of the artists’ work in many locations in River Valley towns. A partial list of brochure locations plus the map, list of artists and other information can be found at rivervalleyartists.com.
