New nonprofit offers music lessons for kids in need

MIDDLETOWN — A new nonprofit launched in Middletown provides music lessons for kids in need. Every Note Counts was started by three music educators who believe that quality music education can, and should, be accessible to every kid that wants to play an instrument, according to a news release.

Every Note Counts is partnering with schools and teachers throughout Connecticut. The first partner, Middlesex Music Academy, is located in downtown Middletown. This shared space is ADA compliant and is accessible by Middletown Area Transit.

Families with an income at or below 250 percent of the national poverty level are eligible to apply. Students must be between the ages of 8 and 18. For information, visit everynotecounts.org or email info@everynotecounts.org.
