FISHER, Laura Sweet, 94, passed away at Evergreen Woods in North Branford, CT on September 1, 2021. She was born in Vancouver, B.C., the daughter of the late Theodore Patrick Sweet of Boston and Mary Neilson Sweet of Minneapoli­s. She was pre-deceased by her devoted husband, Lewis Emmett Fisher, by her sister Doris May Sweet and by her brother Theodore Greig Sweet. She studied at schools in Vancouver, including the University of British Columbia – Class of 1949.

While living in New York City with her husband, she was associated with the Executive Recruiting firm of Smith, Dingwall Assoc. Business took them to Raleigh, NC where they lived for 19 years and where Laura volunteere­d in several programs sponsored by the NC Dept. of Education. In 1983 they retired to Branford, CT where she became an active multi-tasking volunteer with CT Hospice.

She is survived by her three beloved step-children:

Anne H. Fisher of France, William B. Fisher of Longmeadow, MA and Martha H. Dwyer of Portsmouth, NH; five cherished stepgrandc­hildren: Roger (whose brother Henri died in infancy), Scott, Deborah, Elizabeth and Catherine; ten special step-great grandchild­ren; and was devoted to her very special companion, Paul Schatz.

Laura cared very deeply for those in need; contributi­ons may be made to The Salvation Army – or to a charity of your choice.
